ABOUT US:
God has blessed Apostle
Smith with a ministry where souls can be delivered by
the preaching of the Word, laying on of hands and the
use of blessed cloths or aprons as found in Acts
19:11-12.
HISTORY:
Apostle David L. Smith has
been preaching the gospel for over twenty-five years.
He is married to Dr. Linda Smith. They have two
sons, Andre’ and LaBrint. Apostle and Dr. Smith
were former members of the Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.)
where they served in various capacities for more than
thirteen years. In 1990, God led them to
Kannapolis, NC to start a ministry.
Though they started with
very few members, they did not despise their humble
beginnings, but rather, remained faithful and dedicated
to the work that God called them to do. As a
result, many souls were saved and blessed by the
preaching of the pure and unadulterated Word of God.
In approximately four years, the membership increased,
exceeding the capacity of the facility at that time.
In 1994, God blessed Apostle
and Dr. Smith to purchase a larger facility.
People traveled great distance to Kannapolis, NC to
worship under the leadership of Apostle Smith. In
addition, Apostle Smith traveled extensively, preaching
the Word of God and allowing God to use him to heal the
sick and to set the captives free. The demand for
such ministry led Apostle Smith to follow the voice of
God to expand the BAC ministry to other areas. In
1997, Blessed Assurance Church in Rock Hill, SC was
birthed. In 2005, Blessed Assurance Church in
Monroe, NC came into existence. The facility
in Kannapolis, NC is the headquarters for the Blessed
Assurance Churches.
God has not only gifted
Apostle Smith, He has also gifted Dr. Linda Smith and
blessed her to lead a powerful women’s ministry that
touches the lives of hurting and broken women.
Additionally, Dr. Smith serves as the Assistant Pastor
to the Blessed Assurance Churches.
Both Apostle and Dr. Smith
have dedicated their lives to winning souls for the
Kingdom of God, to encourage, strengthen, and empower
the body of Christ to live a life that pleases God.
Apostle Smith’s brother, the
late Prophet Vinson Smith, played a very important role
in the formation of the Blessed Assurance ministry.
In 1990 God led Prophet Smith and his wife, Missionary
Janet Smith to join BAC and become co-laborers with
Apostle and Dr. Smith to take the ministry to the
nations. Prophet Smith served as Assistant Pastor
and Missionary Smith served as President of the
Missionary Board.
Prophet Smith started a 6 am
Sunday morning prayer, which is still a vital part of
our worship service. He also organized a street
ministry where he and a team went into the drug-infested
neighborhoods and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Each time God led Apostle Smith to start a new ministry,
Prophet Smith prepared the ground by taking the street
ministry into the area to walk the neighborhood to claim
it, and the souls in that community, as well as minister
to those who afforded him the opportunity. His
heart was after souls, which is one reason why he was
such an integral part of the ministry.
In August 2005, Prophet
Smith labor came to an end. He fulfilled his
purpose. He completed his assignment here on
earth. After which God called him home to eternal
rest. Prophet Smith will never be forgotten.
He was a man of faith and prayer, a true Prophet after
God’s heart. He has left a legacy for others to
follow.
